Indifferent Space

6 mm film transferred to video
The work was photographed and filmed in Trent Park, Cockfosters in London.
Elpida used the stillness of the trees and the darkness of the forest in Trent Park to investigate the notions of passing time. Using a still camera and rotating the camera in a circle, 35mm slides were taken at different times of the day and night. This was then projected back, at exactly the same place one frame per second, onto large canvas that was stretched between the trees.
