Re-sort is a commission at Fabrica Gallery in Brighton, a construction of intricate ‘altar screen’ of fish bones, which re-creates religious text from a recently painted out mural in the chancel area of the building.
Epidermis is an existing work, originally commissioned by Berwick Gymnasium Art Gallery as a response to the decline of its local fishing industry. The piece has been re-framed for Fabrica as a site sensitive piece which elicits new connections with Brighton’s own fishing past and present. Epidermis is exquisitely grafted of 1000 salmon skins and suspended on 100’s of nylon threads from the roof of the exhibition space.
